Statement from LV Chair - Fergus Stewart
Lacrosse Victoria has been made aware of comments made by the Ballarat Royals Lacrosse Club Chair, Mr Tasi Stanpoultzis, on his Facebook page. Personally, I was horrified with these comments and the conduct of his manner in treating women. Lacrosse Victoria is confident that these comments do not reflect the views of the Ballarat Royals Lacrosse Club and its members.
On behalf of the lacrosse community, I would like to extend my sincere apologies to those involved and all female members of the lacrosse community who have been affected by these comments.
Lacrosse Victoria aims to provide a welcoming and inclusive club environment and these comments do not reflect our values.
Thank you to those members of the lacrosse community who have reached out to support the women involved.
An investigation into the behaviour of Mr Stanpoultzis and the Ballarat Royals Lacrosse Club will be undertaken immediately.
