Lacrosse Victoria
Lacrosse Victoria is the governing body for lacrosse throughout the state, administering both Men’s and Women’s lacrosse in Victoria.
With support from Sport and Recreation Victoria and VicHealth, Lacrosse Victoria aims:
- To grow player, official and volunteer participation.
- To provide exceptional management of all Lacrosse Victoria competitions.
- To consistently achieve success in national tournaments while offering Victorian participants the best opportunities to excel at both national and international competitions.
- To improve the quality and quantity of lacrosse facilities in Victoria.
- To promote and build the profile of lacrosse using a range of communication channels.
- To provide the Victorian lacrosse community with the necessary tools and resources to sustain long-term success and growth.
Lacrosse is played in various forms in Victoria. These forms include:
Club Lacrosse
Senior and Junior, Men’s and Women’s Field Lacrosse. Club Lacrosse is a regular weekly competition between Melbourne Metropolitan and Regional Clubs during the Winter season.Box Lacrosse
Summer Competition for Men and women. Box Lacrosse is a variation of the game originating in Canada where it is played indoors on ice hockey rinks.University Lacrosse
The University Lacrosse League is a non-contact mixed gender competition launched in Melbourne in 2006.Schools Lacrosse
Lacrosse is played in Victorian Primary and Secondary Schools (SSV) each year with State Finals played in August/September.TriBall Lacrosse
Is a fun modified version of Lacrosse perfect for schools as an introduction to the Sport.Lacrosse Sixes
A shorter and faster-paced version of the sport designed specifically for Olympic and Commonwealth Games competition.Lacrosse Victoria
Lacrosse Victoria acknowledges the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands throughout Victoria and pays respect to the Elders past, present and emerging.
