Grants

Grants are a good way for clubs to supplement or enhance their income to enable them to fund activities important to the clubs ongoing sustainability and success.

At various times there may be state, federal or other bodies' grants available for clubs to apply for. They will be listed below as they become available and relevant.

Sport and Recreation Victoria have opened Round 1 of the 2026–27 Sporting Club Grants Program, which provides funding to community sport and active recreation organisations across Victoria to support participation, inclusion, capability building, and club sustainability.

Funding is available across five categories:

  • Category 1On-field Uniforms or Equipment: up to $1,000
  • Category 2Volunteers and Officials: up to $5,000 for volunteer, coach and official development and retention projects
  • Category 3Access and Events: up to $2,500 for a single-session event or up to $5,000 for a series of sport sessions for adults
  • Category 4 Travel: up to $750 to support travel costs for representative competitions, selection trials, or training camps
  • Category 5 Governance and Engagement: up to $1,500 to strengthen governance and organisational sustainability

Program dates:

Round 1

  • Applications open: Friday 10 July 2026
  • Applications close: 4:00pm Wednesday 26 August 2026
  • Notification of outcomes: October 2026

Round 2

  • Applications open: Thursday 18 February 2027
  • Applications close: 4:00pm Thursday 1 April 2027
  • Notification of outcomes: June 2027

If successful, recipients must complete the project and spend grant funds within 12 months.
