Upcoming Club Coaching Course and 2027 Requirements

The next in-person session for the Lacrosse Australia (LA) Club Coach Course takes place on Sunday, 20 September at Williamstown Women’s Lacrosse Club.

This course covers practical skills, correction techniques, game sense training, and coaching philosophy. It is designed for anyone coaching a club team through a season across junior or senior grades.

Who Needs to Attend

• Mandatory for all Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches in State League (SL), State League Reserves (SLR), U18, and U17 competitions.
• Recommended for U14 and U16 junior coaches.
• Open to anyone wanting to start coaching or aiming for future State Team roles.

Session Details

• Date: Sunday, 20 September
• Time: 11.00 am to 3.30 pm
• Location: Williamstown Women’s Lacrosse Club, Fearon Reserve, Esplanade, Williamstown VIC 3016
• Requirements: Blended online work, the practical session, and a valid Working with Children Check.
• Registration: Register on the Lacrosse Australia website

Clubs are to send the names and email addresses of all attending coaches to Lacrosse Victoria via finance@lacrossevictoria.com.au. Another course will run in March 2027, but spaces are not guaranteed to fit around competition fixtures.

2027 Season Coaching Requirements

Clubs need to ensure all coaches meet the mandatory standards before the 2027 season starts.

Mandatory Online Modules for All Coaches Every coach, regardless of age group, must complete these online courses in their own time:

• Sport Integrity Australia (SIA): Child Safeguarding Course
• Sport Integrity Australia (SIA): Discrimination and Harassment Course
• Australian Sports Commission (ASC): Essential Skills Course

Requirements by Grade

• U10 and Club Programs: Quick Stix Coaching Course (Mandatory). Clubs must email the contact details of their U10 program coaches to Lacrosse Victoria to receive access information.
• U14 and U16: LA Club Coach Course (Recommended).
• SL, SLR, U17, and U18: LA Club Coach Course (Mandatory for all Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches).
