Our “new” website. A better online experience.

We have reorganised the Lacrosse Victoria website with one clear goal.
Make it easier to find what you need, when you need it.

This has been a significant project, completed over several months, and built entirely on volunteer time.

We thank Alec for his time, expertise and dedication in delivering a website that will support the lacrosse community here in Victoria.

The result is a refreshed, mobile-friendly website designed to grow with the sport and better serve our state community.

What’s changed

The new website is designed to be clearer, faster and more practical.

You should now find it easier to:

  • Locate key information without clicking through endless pages
  • Find competition information in one central place
  • See the latest news and updates quickly

The homepage brings everything together with current news, our live Instagram feed, and simple navigation to the rest of the site.

Competition information, finally in one place

The biggest improvement, and by far the most time-intensive, is the new Competition Info section.

Working closely with GameDay, we have built a central hub where you can find:

  • Fixtures
  • Ladders
  • Weekly results

This applies to every division, from Senior State League through to Junior U10s.

This level of competition information has not been available on the Lacrosse Victoria website or social media before. The section is still being refined.

As the website has launched ahead of the 2026 Field Season, these pages do not yet display live data. That will come once the competition calendar has been finalised and games are being played.

Once the season begins, this will be the best way to access current competition information, as it is posted directly through GameDay.

It will also reduce the need for fixture, ladder and results graphics to be recreated and shared manually on social media.

A work in progress, by design

This is a large and evolving website.

You may notice:

  • Broken links
  • Missing images or placeholder imagery in some areas
  • Sections that are still being completed

We felt it was important to release the newly restructured website at the start of the year, rather than delay access to improved navigation and key information. You may notice the occasional issue as the site is refined. All known issues have been identified and are being worked through.

How we will use the website going forward

With limited time and resources in the Lacrosse Victoria office, the website will be our primary source of information and communication from Lacrosse Victoria.

We know:

  • Not everyone uses social media
  • Not everyone reads newsletters
  • Our current mailing list is outdated and no longer reliable

A new mailing list will be created this year, with a subscription link available directly on the website for those who would like to receive email updates every time a news article is posted. You must really love emails if you sign up.

Until then:

  • Announcements will be shared on our Facebook and Instagram accounts
  • Every announcement will also be published in the News section of the website
  • News items will appear in chronological order

We encourage the community to check the website regularly.

Events and what’s coming next

The Events section will house the Lacrosse Victoria calendar.
Dates and events are currently being added behind the scenes, so this section will look sparse for now.

Most forms will soon be digital, letting you complete and submit them online, no printing or scanning required.

There are also several exciting projects underway. These will be added to the website as they are released.

Built to grow with the sport

This website is not a finished product.

It is:

  • Fully functional
  • Designed to evolve
  • Built to support the ongoing development of lacrosse in Victoria

The structure is in place, and it will continue to improve over time.

Thank you for your patience

This project has been built on volunteer hours because it is important to the lacrosse community.

We know there will be a learning curve for the community.

We appreciate your patience as the website develops and hope you enjoy the improved experience.
