Marlee Wood awarded Shelley Maher Trophy for 2025 season
Congratulations to Newport Lacrosse Club's Marlee Wood, who has been awarded the prestigious Shelley Maher Trophy for Australia's Best and Fairest Women's Player on Saturday evening.
This outstanding achievement recognises Marlee's exceptional performance during the domestic field season, showcasing the calibre of talent within Victorian lacrosse and at Newport Lacrosse Club.
The Shelley Maher Trophy has been awarded annually since 2012 by the Australian Lacrosse Association. It is named in honour of Victorian lacrosse legend Shelley Maher, who served as President of Women's Lacrosse Victoria from 1998 to 2001 and was the final President of Women's Lacrosse Australia from 2001 to 2009. Shelley was recognised with the World Lacrosse Lifetime Achiever Award in 2017.
