VALE - Mr Chris Miles

Lacrosse Victoria are deeply saddened by the passing of Footscray Lacrosse Club stalwart Chris Miles.

Chris joined FLC in 2000 and made an immediate impact to the State League defence, and continued as a formidable defenceman each season, amassing a total of 297 senior games. He was a key member of four Premiership teams in 2006 (Div 1), 2018 (SL) 2022 (Div 2), only missing the 2013 Grand Final due to an ACL injury.

Chris also represented Victoria at both junior and senior levels, and a member of the 2004 U23 Australian Team at the ASPAC Championship in Adelaide.

Since 2017, Chris has been the club’s driving force behind Primary School programs, Junior recruitment and Social Lax programs, as well as coaching junior boys teams every year. Chris also served on the FLC Committee between 2017 – 2021 and was acknowledged a Best Club Person in 2017, 2021, 2022 for his dedication, passion and commitment to FLC and the growth of lacrosse.

The ultimate clubman, Chris was a great teammate, workhorse around the club - usually the first to arrive and last to leave, caring, charismatic and generous. He always had your back.

Our heartfelt sympathies are extended to his wife Ange, young children Sonny and Grace, mother Pauline and brother Adam.
