What an unbelievable week of lacrosse it was in Ballarat!
Over 300 players hailing from Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, and New Zealand formed eighteen teams, all gathering at the impressive Ballarat Soccer Facility for an intense competition, vying for the title of U15 Lacrosse National Champion.
Throughout the week, the tournament showcased seven outstanding teams from Victoria, which included the Fire, Ice, and Sparks for the girls, and the Western Metros, Northern Warriors, Southern Crosse, and Hurricanes for the boys. This assembly of lacrosse talent and potential future superstars alongwith outstanding facilities, made the event truly exceptional.
Even though we proudly fielded seven teams, showcasing the depth of our talent, and witnessed unwavering dedication from all our squads, we fell short of claiming the top honors. The U15 Boy's and Girls National Lacrosse Champions titles were rightfully earned by the South Australian teams, the Stringrays and Comets. Our Western Metros, despite a valiant campaign, were ultimately defeated in the final match with a score of 7-4. However, the Ice team emerged as a shining beacon among the Victorian contingents, securing a thrilling 9-8 victory in the 3rd place final against Western Australia's Stars.
The final standings were as follows:
Girls
1st Comets
2nd Storm
3rd Ice
4th Stars
5th Lightning
6th Fire
7th Flames
8th Waikato
9th Hurricanes
