We are proud to announce two of the eight debutants in the 2023 Victorian Men's Team are from Malvern Lacrosse Club!

Lachlan Bown: Begun his lacrosse journey at Malvern Lacrosse Club alongside his entire family at the age of five and has been a part of the club ever since! Lachlan has earnt his was to high-performance honours by playing in every division in both Juniors and Senior levels. Having participated in numerous National Tournaments for both U15 and U18 age groups, he has been lucky enough to win National Titles for both levels. Lachlan was also part of the recent U21 Men's Australian team that travelled to Limerick Ireland.

Congratulations Lachlan!

Samuel Boontjes: Started playing lacrosse as a 10 year old, after a school clinic was run by Chadstone lacrosse club. Growing up playing football and cricket, Samuel gravitated towards lacrosse due to the fast pace nature of the sport. He was fortunate to play for Chadstone for seven years, winning a Division 1 title and learning a tremendous amount from the club throughout his tenure.

Samuel moved to Malvern lacrosse club to pursue State League competition and have played at the club for the past four years where he was able to make his State League finals debut. Alongside club lacrosse, Samuel has been privileged to also play in many representative teams; Southern Crosse, U18 Victorian sides and most recently the U21 Australian Men’s side.

The senior Victorian side is the next step for Samuel and he is ecstatic to play alongside his teamates and enjoy watching them scoring goals for the Big V rather than against him at a local level.

Congratulations Samuel!
