Biggest SSV Lacrosse State Finals Ever
This year’s event was our strongest yet. We had more than 500 students from 52 teams representing 26 schools. The All Gender Division had 32 teams across 8 pools. The Girls Division had 20 teams across 4 pools. We also welcomed 9 districts who entered teams for the first time.
Our Winners for 2025 are:
Williamstown Primary School (Girls Division)

St. Patrick’s Primary School Mentone (All Gender Division)

Spirit of Sport Award Winners
Burwood East Primary School (All Gender Division)

Our Lady of the Southern Cross (Girls Division) - Not pictured. They had to leave early.
This growth comes from the steady work of Lacrosse Victoria, School Sport Victoria and our member clubs over the last few years. The schools pathway is now the busiest it has ever been and students are showing real interest in staying involved. Several teachers told us their students are already asking what comes next. To support this, we sent home flyers with contact details for every member club and a QR code linking to our Find A Club map, so families can take the next step.
Thank you also to Lacrosse Australia for their ongoing support. Their Quick Stix program gives students a fun and easy way to try lacrosse, and it is helping more young players get started.

Thank you to every club that supported the program, either on the day or in the lead up. This is the largest level of club involvement we have ever had, and it is making a real difference. We are grateful to Brunswick, Camberwell, Chadstone, Eltham, Footscray, Malvern, MCC, Newport, Surrey Park, Williamstown and Williamstown Women’s Lacrosse Club.

A special thanks to the clubs that ran their own district competitions. Caulfield, Bendigo and Altona helped bring new schools into the sport. Bendigo also continues to run its own school programs, which is a major contribution to regional access.

We had 15 districts compete, which shows the growing reach of the sport across Victoria. The excitement from both teachers and students shows that this pathway is working and that the sport is building real momentum.
