Patrick McGrath-Campbell has been crowned the Men's State League Best & Fairest player in 2022.
A product of Malvern's junior pathway, Patrick began his career in 2000 as an Under 13 and is now renowned for his dominance in the face-off and widely regarded as one of Malvern's greatest threats.
Dominating the initial possession and providing his teammates the first scoring opportunity, forcing his opponents onto the back foot, Patrick's centre dominance continued throughout the 2022 season following two interrupted campaigns.
As many would know, in addition to midfield dominance, Patrick also possesses a deceptively quick shot that is utilised on the man up, amassing 11 goals and 10 assists of his own throughout the season.
His first 12 rounds were unmatched in 2022, polling an impressive 18 votes. Patrick did not falter in the home stretch of the season, holding off fast-finishing Eltham representative Caleb Hall and Footscray member Jeff Melsopp by polling his final five votes in the last two rounds of the season.
Notwithstanding his on-field achievements, Patrick is Malvern's on-field and spiritual leader where his natural leadership qualities come to the floor. Passionate about the growth of lacrosse, Patrick is continually putting his hand up to assist his much beloved club in any way he can; a trait much desired, yet hard to find.
As mentioned, this is the third time Patrick has won the Vince Healey trophy (2013 & 2016) which is no small feat and highlights his consistency and dedication to the sport of lacrosse.
A classy and selfless individual, there is no person more deserving of the Vince Healy Trophy.
