In what was a stella season for MCC LC claiming the Division 1 minor premiership, proud member Jake Egan has claimed the coveted J.L. Beattie Cup.
No stranger to high pressure situations, Jake held his nerve throughout the season, particularly in the last half, where he compiled 10 of his votes in the final six rounds. A 'team first' and selfless individual with immense talent, Jake was an integral part of MCC's 2022 success where he compiled 26 assists and 21 goals.
Jake was the leader of MCC's tantalising trio which consisted of Dan Mentiplay, Marty Hyde and himself, who between them were responsible for 116 goals and 69 assists.
Unfortunately, MCC fell short on the final step and could not claim the premiership; falling short to Williamstown. Regardless, Jake's leadership and playing skill was evident to all throughout the 2022 season and saw him hold off Melbourne University's sharpshooter Tyler Reynolds by two votes.
Congratulations Jake!
