This Friday, the 25th of August, is Wear It Purple Day. Celebrate with Lacrosse Victoria and wear a splash of purple to support LGBTQIA+ youth.
Wear It Purple Day, an international movement dedicated to supporting LGBTQIA+ youth who experience discrimination and mental health challenges and are at risk of suicide. As part of Lacrosse Victoria's LGBTIQ+ Inclusion Strategy, we aim to ensure that the LGBTIQ+ community is safe, affirmed, and welcomed in our lacrosse community. Wear It Purple Day is a great way for us to visibly show our support. So please join the LV Board and Staff and wear purple this Friday to show your support of rainbow young people within the lacrosse community as well as the wider Australian community.

Wear It Purple is a not-for-profit organisation that strives to foster supportive, safe, empowering and inclusive environments for rainbow young people. Wear it Purple was founded in 2010 in response to global stories of real teenagers, real heartache and their very real responses. In 2010, several rainbow young people took their own lives following bullying and harassment resulting from the lack of acceptance of their sexuality or gender identity. Wear it Purple was established to show young people across the globe that there was hope, that there were people who did support and accept them, and that they have the right to be proud of who they are.
