In the coming weeks, the Men's competition will be restructured. Following the conclusion of Round 11 on the weekend of 15th July, both the Men’s State League and Men’s State League Reserves will split into a top six and bottom five.

The bottom five teams of the Men’s State League will form the Men’s Championship League while the top six teams remain in the State League competition. Similarly, the bottom five teams of the Men’s State League Reserves will form the Men’s Championship League Reserves while the top six teams remain in the State League Reserves competition.

All State League Reserves teams will follow their corresponding State League team regardless of their finishing position. For example, if a club has a Men’s State League team in the top six but a Men’s State League Reserves team in the bottom five, both teams will remain in the State League competition. The opposite is also true – if a club has a Men’s State League team in the bottom five but a Men’s State League Reserves team in the top six, both teams will play in the Men’s Championship League and Men’s Championship Reserves League. State League Reserves team will always follow the movement of their State League Team.

The recalibrated Men’s State League and Men’s State League Reserves teams will compete in five ‘Qualifying Rounds’ against the other members of the top six. In total, these teams will play 16 rounds (15 games and 1 bye), with the top four teams progressing to a three-week Finals Series.

The recalibrated Men’s Championship League and Men’s Championship League Reserves will compete in five ‘Qualifying Rounds’ against the other members of the bottom five, including 1 bye round. In total, these teams will play 16 rounds (14 games and 2 byes), with the top three teams progressing to a two-week Finals Series.

The Lacrosse Victoria Men’s Community Cup is unaffected by the competition’s recalibration. These teams will play 15 games with the top three progressing to a two-week Finals Series.
