Lacrosse Fit Program

Lacrosse Victoria and Merri-bek Council have partnered with Brunswick Lacrosse Club and the Lote Agency to develop the Lacrosse Fit program to culturally & linguistically diverse women in Merri-Bek Council.

• The program has no cost to participate thanks to the SRV funding grant. It is a new, social physical activity program developed in collaboration with the women.
• The program is focused on creating social connections amongst the participants while trying something new, increasing physical fitness levels, and learning the basics of lacrosse, catching, throwing, scooping, and shooting.
• There is no prior experience or fitness level required, and all of the women have been brand new to the sport. The participants are able to come with their young children and learn to play while the young children are engaged. The children can play lacrosse or with other toys and games provided by the program.

We've had 15 women and 12 young children participate, and they have really loved playing lacrosse.
