Today we celebrate IDAHOBIT, International Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination. May 17 is the anniversary in 1990, when the World Health Organisation removed homosexuality from the Classification of Diseases.

IDAHOBIT gives us the opportunity to not only champion the LGBTQIA+ communities and their contributions to lacrosse, but to also recognise there is still more work that needs to be done to ensure that lacrosse is a sport for all. While we’re celebrating today, it’s important to remember that there is zero tolerance for homophobia, biphobia, transphobia and intersex discrimination, and that your allyship is not just needed today but every day.

Celebrations started last week at Melbourne University's Pride Party and will kick on through the weekend for the Inaugural Lacrosse Victoria Pride Round. Check out below where you can find us celebrating, honouring, and recognising the LGBTQIA+ community.
