Lacrosse Victoria Appoints Greg Mollison as Senior Men's Team Head Coach For 2026

Lacrosse Victoria is thrilled to announce the appointment of Greg Mollison as Head Coach of the Victorian Senior Men's Team for 2026.

Greg brings an extraordinary wealth of experience to the role, having been an integral part of Victorian lacrosse for decades as both a player and coach. This appointment marks his 56th state team, a remarkable milestone that reflects his lifelong commitment to the game and its community.

"I'm honoured and excited to once again take the helm of the Senior Victorian Men's Field Lacrosse team for 2026. This marks my 56th State Team, a milestone that reflects not just years of coaching, but a lifelong commitment to the game and its community.

Greg last coached the senior men's team in 2018 and 2019, leading them to back-to-back undefeated National Championships.

"Those seasons were unforgettable, not just for the wins, but for the spirit, grit, and unity the team showed on and off the field."

Throughout his coaching career, Greg has guided 56 Victorian state teams across all grades and genders. Men, women, boys, and girls, in both field and box lacrosse. He has also represented Australian lacrosse on the national stage, coaching both the senior men's and women's teams, and has coached two South Australian men's box lacrosse teams. At club level, Greg has been a cornerstone of Footscray Lacrosse Club, coaching all grades for both men and women.

But for Greg, the greatest satisfaction comes from something beyond the scoreboard. "What brings me the greatest joy isn't just the titles. It's seeing the athletes I've coached grow into not only better players, but better people. Watching them mature, give back to the sport, and inspire the next generation is the true reward."

As a player, Greg's credentials are equally impressive. He played over 470 games in field lacrosse for Footscray Lacrosse Club and competed in box lacrosse for 12 years with the Renegades. He represented Victoria in box lacrosse from 1976 to 1989 and wore the green and gold for Australia in 1978, 1984, and 1985.

Looking ahead, Greg is energised for what's to come. "2026 is shaping up to be another incredible chapter, and I can't wait to get started."
