Fergus Stewart

Academic Qualifications – Bach Engineering , Melbourne University / Master of Business Administration, Melbourne University

Business background. Employed in General Management positions in Australian Public Companies through the 1970’s to early 2,000’s.

Associated with Lacrosse since the late 50’s, having commenced as a junior at Williamstown LC.

Transferred to Melbourne University LC in 1960 and played there for 8 years approximately.

Played in numerous Junior, Colts and Senior Victorian State Teams, and played midfield in the Australian Team in the 1967 Lacrosse World Series in Toronto, where the team were runners-up to the USA.

Transferred to Surrey Park LC in the early 70’s and played State League until the late 70’s, after accepting a General Management job in Adelaide. Whilst in Adelaide played and coached at Glenelg Lacrosse Club.

Returned to Melbourne in 1986 and rejoined Surrey Park LC.

Joined the VLA General Committee from 1990 to 2004, was Deputy President from 1998 to 2001, and President 2002 to 2004.

A Founder and Inaugural Trustee of the Victorian Lacrosse Foundation in 1999, and have continued as a Trustee/ Chair of the VLF Sub-committee since its inception.

Rejoined the LV Board in 2021 to assist with the transfer of the Foundation into the LV Structure.
