Return to Play Advisory Group Meeting

Lacrosse Victoria has formed a Return to Play Advisory Group (RTP). The RTP Group first met last Thursday and with the new announcements made Monday by Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews, the RTP group will meet again Tuesday 12 May.

The group consists of nine members and includes: three Lacrosse Victoria (LV) Board Members: Jess Symonds (Chair), Simon Atkins and Ben Stone, one LV staff member Sean Aaron (secretary) and five community members: Stephen Bown, Simon Brown, Sarah Nobbs, Danny Whitbourn and Owyne Zobel.

Interim General Manager Michael Sholly said today in a memorandum to clubs, “It appears that you will be able to go to a local park, with up to ten of your friends and/or teammates and practise your skills using your own equipment.

We have not yet received official notification from Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV) regarding official, club organised training. When this is sanctioned [clubs] will then need to receive clearance from your local government or landowner. It is anticipated that there will be no access to pavilions until a deep clean has been completed. There is a “Working for Victoria” group being assembled to assist councils with this cleanse.”

LV will work with state and local governments to get as much information to the members as efficiently and quickly as allowed. Once more information is available, we will disseminate to the membership. LV hope to have an FAQ page up in due time to assist with some question’s clubs might have.

Stay tuned to the Lacrosse Victoria social media channels for more information and updates.
