Congratulations to both the Senior Men's and Senior Women's Team for winning the 2019 ALA Senior National Championship. Both teams won in style sweeping the competition with the Women's Team winning all 5 of their games and the Men's Team winning all 4 of theirs to extend the Senior National championship winning streak to 11 games dating back to 2017. The Women outscored their opposition 97-27 over the course of the tournament while the Men's team outscored their opponents 52-17.

Championship Sunday was played under blue skies and Greg Mollison's team kicked off the day with a 12-8 victory over Western Australia. Sue Sofarnos' ladies followed suit and ran over top of South Australia by a score of 16-5.

Both teams were well represented on the Tournament All-Star Teams voted on by all coaches. Each team had 6 Victorians listed but could have easily been full of Victorian representatives. Hayley Sofarnos also took home some extra hardware as she was named the MVP of the Women's Tournament.

On the Women's All-Star team:

Bree Hussey - Goaltender

Bridget Hogan - Defense

Abbie Burgess - Midfield

Danelle Mollison - Midfield

Hayley Sofarnos - Attack

On the Men's All-Star Team:

Chris Moffat - Defense

Jeff Melsopp - Midfield

Congratulations to both teams players and staff! For those keeping track at home, through the 4 Championships held in 2019 Victoria has won 3 National Championships (18 Boys, Senior Men, Senior Women) and has 1 second place finish (18 girls).
