Lacrosse Victoria would like to announce an exciting new initiative to engage and develop new umpires! These Umpiring Clinics will be run by Independent Umpires each week.

The program is free! Come for one, come for all and on week 4 participants will be able to sit the test to become qualified for the 2019 season! The clincs are free of charge. Participants will also be able to see what they have learned in a gameplay scenario with 5 women's draft games on each day.

Lacrosse Victoria are inviting players, umpires (both current and prospective), coaches and spectators to attend the Umpiring Clinics. This includes both women and men.

Themes for each week:

March 24 - Week 1: Rule Clarification @ Brunswick Lacrosse Club starting at 12pm

Topics include:

1. Setting centre Draw / Pre Check / Offside / advantage call (midfield)

2. Free Space / Advantage flag / Goal circles rules

3. Who’s call is it? (which umpire is responsible for calling what / working as a team)

March 31 - Week 2: Positioning @ Eltham Lacrosse Club starting at 12 pm

April 7 - Week 3: Umpiring challenges and how to overcome them @ Footscray Lacrosse Club starting at 12 pm
