Lacrosse Victoria would like to congratulate Sue Sofarnos on being named the Head Coach for the 2019 Senior Women’s Victorian Team.
Sue is no stranger to the position as she has won 5 national championships as the Victorian Head Coach. This includes a run of 4 straight championships from 2013-17. She has also been actively involved as a coach on the Australian team, most recently as Team Analyst, but also has been Head and Assistant coach along the way. At the club level, Sue is currently the Director of Coaching for Newport Ladies Lacrosse Club and an 8 – time premiership winning coach for the Porters.
Sue will look to lead the Victorian women back to the title game after a heartbreaking defeat to the host Western Australian team in Perth in 2018. Prior to 2018, the Victorian Women’s team had a dynasty of 5 straight National Championships from 2013-17. This year, the 2019 Senior Women’s and Men’s National Championships will be held in Melbourne starting the 5th of June.
More information regarding the championships will be forthcoming.
