The 2018 Victorian Box League finished with 2 close games. The competition had over 65 players register for the 8 week season and was a massive success.

The biggest win had to be the box lacrosse community as many voluteers logged hundreds of hours in putting up the new box court at Westgate Indoor Sports Centre.
We will have more on that process later!

The final night featured two thrilling games both with 2 goal differences. The fans who turned up to were treated to an upset in the 3rd place game as the previously
winless Thunder knocked off the Rage by a score of 11-9.

In the Grand Final the Fury jumped out to a 5-1 lead after the first. Their opponents Stormed back to tighten the Fury lead to a one goal deficit, 7-6, at 3 quarter
time. Things tightened up in the 4th as the Storm were able to tie the game at 7 but the Fury scored the final 2 goals to claim the 2018 Read Cup with a final score of 9-7.

This year Brody Black from the Fury was the recipient of the Highest Point Scorer award. Through the home and away series, Black scored a total of 22 points off 20 goals
and 2 assists.

A massive congratulations to all players, coaches, volunteers and staff for the success of the 2018 Victorian Box Lacrosse League. Lacrosse Victoria looks forward to
the continued growth and development of box lacrosse in Victoria in 2019!
