Women's Competition Update - Moving into the final round
Monday August 20, 2018
by Lacrosse Victoria
Lacrosse Victoria would like to remind all teams about the current structure of the women’s competitions leading into finals as some clubs are enquiring about it.
It was discussed at the start of the year at the second women’s forum and then again at the club conference surrounding the structure of the women’s competitions in season 2018 and that Lacrosse Victoria were splitting both the Premier League Women’s and Division 1 Women’s competitions into two tiers and that finals were going to be played within these tiers.
Below is what the tiers currently look like with Altona moving back from premier league to Tier 1 of Division 1.

The fixtures for the season were built upon playing teams in your own tier twice and in the opposing tier once. This however is not the case with some teams in Division 1 Tier 2 not playing Tier 1 teams at all due to the number of teams and the amount of weeks in the season.
The current ladders you see on Lacrosse Victoria’s website are incorrect and as SportsTG are unable to run competitions and ladders to reflect the tiered system Lacrosse Victoria have created a manual ladder. Please find attached correct ladders that reinforce where you stand within your tier. Apologies for not having these sent earlier but due to being on sick leave for two weeks I have had to play catch up ever since.
Please relay this information to your club members and committee so they understand what the current structures are and that the ladders are not correct on our website.
As mentioned on Lacrosse Victoria’s website and in the bulletin finals will be played the same as in season 2017 and scheduled over three weeks starting Sunday August 26 and concluding Sunday September 9.
Any questions please forward them onto Matt Ogilvie competitions.officer@lacrossevictoria.com.au
