Eastern Primary School Comp 2012 Boys in Action
2012 saw Lacrosse Victoria hold our usual Middle and Junior Secondary School competitions and for the first time our Primary School competition was held over 2 venues on the East and West sides of the city.
MIDDLE SCHOOL COMPETITION
In September the Middle School competition was held at Altona and for the second year Maribyrnong College were the winners, this year taking out the Girls and Boys competitions, again a team from Bendigo Secondary College made the trip down and put in a great effort, finding the going tough against more experienced opposition. There is promise of a couple of the boys continuing in the sport for the Senior Bendigo club next year, a great result for the Regional Club.
JUNIOR SCHOOL COMPETITION
In early November the Junior Secondary competition was held at the Hobson’s Bay Civic Centre grounds and with Williamstown High School running out convincing winners in the Boys Division, it was Mt. Saint Joseph Girls College winning the Girls Division by the barest of margins, with Northcote H.S. putting up a creditable effort in their second year of competition in both girls and boys divisions.
WESTERN PRIMARY SCHOOL COMPETITION
For the second year in a row, due to the numbers of schools entered, the competition was divided into 2 divisions, White and Blue and we welcomed a few new schools from the area, including Sunbury for the first time and for the third year in a row Eaglehawk North from Bendigo made the long trip, determined to give the competition a real shake.
In the Blue Division the girls from St. Mary’s Williamstown and the boys from Williamstown Primary proved to be the leaders throughout the day and played well to take out the finals.
In the White Division the girls from Williamstown Primary and the boys from Eaglehawk North both played out hard fought games to take out the finals in their competition.

EASTERN PRIMARY SCHOOL COMPETITION
For the first time we held an Eastern Competition in an effort to make the day more accessible for schools in the Eastern side of the city and as well as the winners of the Boronia District Finals we welcomed Donburn Primary for the first time and with the experienced gained over the day, the children proved to be very competitive and all enjoyed the experience.
In the girls final Kent Park took out the title after a close game and in the boys section Waverley C.C. took out a close final against rivals Mountain Gate.
Many thanks must go to Knox Lacrosse Club for their hospitality in hosting this event, for our smallest club, a job well done and much appreciated.
