Lacrosse hits Warrnambool and Timboon

by Lacrosse Victoria
On Friday the 2nd December one of the oldest sports in the World
was available to students across the South
West. Lacrosse Victoria headed down to Warrnambool to
run a series of lacrosse clinics with Primary Schools in the
district.
The clinics were attended by 400 pupils from Allansford PS,
West Warrnambool PS, East Warrnambool PS, Grassmere PS and
Warrnambool PS. The intention of the clinics is to
develop and promote a future Primary Schools Competition in
the South West Region.
Ben Stevens of the Caulfield Lacrosse Club and FastBreak lacrosse
was kind enough to give up his time to help out. Ben was
stunned at how skillful all of the kids were.
Stevens said lacrosse needs to be Warrnambool as the lacrosse
talent pool is huge.
Monday 5th Lacrosse Victoria provided over 200
students at Timboon P-12 the same experience. Feedback from the day
was overwhelmingly positive from all involved. Students from
Timboon P-12 are currently petitioning to make Lacrosse a permanent
part of their PE curriculum and to form a range of male and female
junior and senior teams.
Lacrosse Victoria would like to thank the
Warrnambool Hockey Association for providing their grounds, special
thanks to Kane Horwill, Ben Stevens and Ric
Benedierks.
In addition, LV was lucky enough to have stories run in
the Standard Newspaper and Cobden Times
