A fantastic day of lacrosse was held with 26 teams competing in
the eventThere were lots of new teams this year who improved
tremendously throughout the day. A special congratulation to the
Eaglehawk Girls team who won their first game after four early
losses!
Williamstown PS faced off against Waverley Christian College in
the Grand Final of the Girls Blue Division. After a tight
game during the Round Robin tournament, Williamstown defeated the
tenacious Waverley to come away with the Championship.
In the Boys Blue Division it was neck and neck for second place
in the Round Robin tournament. Oakleigh South narrowly defeated
Waverley Christian College to earn their spot in the Grand Final
versus Williamstown PS. It was a back and forth game, but in the
end Williamstown was too tough to beat.
There was a battle for the top spot in the Girls White Division.
After suffering a tough loss in the Round Robin tournament, St.
Mary's PS fought back in the Grand Final to defeat a strong Christ
Church Grammar side by one goal.
Kent Park PS made it cleanly into the Grand Final for the Boys
White Division. Their opponent came down to the last game of the
Round Robin tournament. Eaglehawk North PS from Bendigo was
narrowly knocked out of the Grand Final when they lost their first
and only game in the last round. St Bernard's PS finished strongly
and took their spot in the Grand Final. Unfortunately it was not
enough to beat the Kent Park boys.
Congratulations to all of the teams who competed, and
thank you for such a wonderful day of lacrosse. Hope to see
everyone again next year!
