by Lacrosse Victoria

On Saturday the Hornets won the
Grand Final defeating the Panthers 16-15, with the game going into
Golden Goal after the game was tied 15 all.
The game was played in great spirit, both teams are to be
congratulated for puting on a great display of indoor lacrosse and
providing an exciting finish to the season.
The Vikings, hit by a number of players being unavailable, were
unable to enter a full team and were forced to forfeit their game
agaist the Demons, Thi placed the Demons as the official third
placed team of the competition. A scratch game was played with
players from both teams present with the improved standard of
indoor lacrosse evident.
Thanks must go to Jason Lawrence, Ric Benedierks and Brendon Hall
for taking up the refereeing duties throughout the season, and a
special thanks for Daryl Benedierks for her handling of the Scoring
and timekeeping during the season.
Also Brendon Hall and Ryan Bird must be congratulated on providing
us with a magnificent scoreboard and shot clock for the last few
weeks, something desperately needed to improve the level of the
game.
