Sporting Act of the Month Award - July

Lacrosse Victoria is pleased to announce the Moreland Lacrosse Club's Stephen Weissbacher as the winner of the Sporting Act of the Month Award for July.

Stephen was nominated by the MCC Lacrosse Club for displaying exemplary sportsmanship towards an injured MCC player in the recent State League match between Moreland and MCC.

Stephen's diligence, care and compassion shown to for over half an hour was very much appreciated by the MCC. Stephen demonstrated the values of great sportsmanship which spanned across club lines. He reassured Travis that assistance was on the way and in the meantime helped minimise the movement and discomfort that was evident due to Travis' injury.

His diligence, care and compassion to Travis for over half an hour was very much appreciated by MCC.

Stephen will receive a $50 award from Lacrosse Victoria and is now shortlisted for the $200 Sporting Act of the Year Award, which will be presented at the Lacrosse Victoria Presentation Night later this year.

Please join us in congratulating Stephen on his outstanding contribution to sportsmanship and Lacrosse.

We know these are not isolated incidents and encourage all clubs and individuals to send through nominations to when they see similar acts so we can reward and recognise those involved and highlight all that is good about the great game of lacrosse.
