Pink Day for Alex

ALEXAThe 22nd of September marks the first anniversary of the passing of Alexandra Miller from DIPG, an incurable and inoperable tumour of the brain stem. She was 6 years of age. Alex battled bravely for 2 years and touched the hearts of not only her family and friends, but also thousands of well-wishers from around Australia and the world.

At the Altona Lacrosse Club, Alex was part of a large family community of past and present players which included the Kukucka, Liptak, Lewer, Ficior, McDonald, Miller and Struhs names. There are currently 26 players on Altona's playing list directly related to Alex, including her older sister Tessa. Her other 3 siblings all played for Altona in the past, as have numerous aunties, uncles and cousins. Alex's immediate family has been part of the Altona Lacrosse Club for over 30 years.

In memory of Alex, all Altona teams that make it to the first round of finals will wear pink (her favourite colour) socks in the first game of the finals to be held on Saturday 27th  August and Sunday 28th August.

On this day the Altona Lacrosse Club would like to acknowledge the support given to the Miller family by Challenge, a not for proift organisation, who provide support services to kids with cancer and their families.

The socks will be provided by the Altona Lacrosse Club. May they inspire you on the day.
