Announcement - Appointment of Damien Orr as ALA Growth Co-Ordinator

It is with excitement and anticipation that the ALA announces the appointment of Damien Orr as the ALA Growth Program Co-ordinator.

The ALA has required a full-time person, on a specific contract, to perform as their Program Co-ordinator for the Growth portfolio. After prior advertising, assessment, short-listing and interviewing, Damien Orr has commenced this role from Monday 25 July 2016. He reports to the ALA Growth Director (Mike Slattery) for specific projects relative to two assignments.

Those projects in summary are:

#1. the rollout of an Australia-wide Primary Schools lacrosse product by the beginning of 2017;

#2. the completion of a National Participation framework for lacrosse across Australia by the end of Q3 in 2016.

Damien is based in Melbourne and many of you will know him from his work with Williamstown Lacrosse Club and Lacrosse Victoria. However, Damien earned selection for this assignment primarily based upon the Development Officer roles, experience and results he perfomed for the England Lacrosse Associations (ELA) 2000 - 03 and which were complemented by further development experience at Stowe School UK 2003 - 08 and Germany/Europe 2008 - 14. These experiences included both male and female lacrosse players.

The ALA looks forward to Damien achieving those project goals and ask for the lacrosse community's support to Damien during that progression.
