Sporting Act of the Month Award - June

Lacrosse Victoria is pleased to announce Steve Bottrell of the Eltham Lacrosse Club as the winner of the Sporting Act of the Month Award (June).

Steve was nominated by a parent at the Surrey Park / Eltham v Footscray Under 15 Boys on Saturday June 4.

Steve noticed an opposition's father's car had a flat tyre, and he pointed this out to the owner who was unable to change it due to an injured shoulder.

Steve proceeded to change the tyre for the Footscray family, ensuring they had a safe trip home.

What a fantastic way to show respect for your opposition, even after suffering a 12 - 3 loss.

Steve will receive a $50 award from Lacrosse Victoria and is now shortlisted for the $200 Sporting Act of the Year Award, which will be presented at the Lacrosse Victoria Presentation Night later this year.

Please join us in congratulating Steve on his outstanding contribution to sportsmanship and Lacrosse.

We also know these are not isolated incidents and we encourage all clubs and individuals to send through nominations to when they see similar acts so we can reward and recognise those involved and highlight all that is good about the great game of lacrosse.
