ALA announce new Referee In Chief

The ALA recently announced the appointment of Dennis Mulroney to the role of Referee In Chief.

Dennis will hold this role for a period of approximately two years until 30 November 2017. Dennis will be a key member of the Men’s National Technical Committee and provide leadership in the area of refereeing throughout Australia.

Dennis will bring to the role a wealth of experience and knowledge from both his lacrosse and professional careers. During his lacrosse journey Dennis played 22 years with Burnside Lacrosse Club and during his time was an active member of the Burnside Management team. Dennis then turned his attention to refereeing where he reached the role of Head Referee at the 2002 ILF Gold Medal game in Perth.

Dennis has taken an active role in assessing and mentoring both referees and assessors, including assessor at three ILF/FIL World Championship events. He has also been active in the area of administration, playing a key role in creating the MNTC policy documents.  He was awarded the Australian government’s National Sports Medal in 2000 and is a life member of ALRA. In 2015 Dennis became a member of the FIL Officiating Committee.

Lacrosse Victoria would like to congratulate Dennis on his appointment and looks forward to his contribution to refereeing at all levels in Australia.
