State Sporting Associations (SSAs) have requested that Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV) continue to provide opportunities for Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO) training to support their Member Protection Policy and commitment to fair, safe and inclusive sporting environments.

SRV will be working with the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights
Commission (VEOHRC) to offer three training opportunities for 2015, scheduled for Wednesday 19 August 1:00pm-4:30pmThursday 24 September 6:00-9:30pm and Monday 16 November 6:00-9:30pm.

MPIOs play an important and positive role in sport. They help ensure
relevant policies and procedures are clear and accessible when they are most needed by those endeavouring to resolve issues or concerns in sport.

SRV encourage all State Sporting Associations to ensure those who fulfil
this important role are trained and supported.

SSAs are invited to nominate persons from within their organisation or
constituent clubs who are considered to have an interest, aptitude and skills that will enable them to effectively fulfil the MPIO role.

To become an MPIO, participants must be nominated by their SSA, complete
seven online modules (at a time to suit themselves) and participate in a 3.5 hour face-to-face training programs (details included below).

There is no charge to attend. Catering will be provided.
