Then this network session is for you!

Hear from women in grassroots sport who have been involved in growing the participation of women and girls across all aspects of their organisation and take away some ideas to implement at your own club, association or league.


Date: Tuesday, 26 May

Time: 6:30pm for a 6:45pm start, concluding at approximately 8.45pm

Venue: Training Room, Sports House
375 Albert Rd, Albert Park (See FAQ for parking information)

Cost: $5 per person

Catering: Food and beverages will be provided (Glass of champagne or wine on arrival)

Claudia Fatone, Cricket Victoria - Board Member

Claudia was elected to the CV Board in 2011, she has an extensive sport management background, including roles as Executive Officer and President of the Victorian Women's Cricket Association, Women's Cricket Operations Manager with CV, Director of Womensport & Recreation Victoria and member of the Local Organising Committee of the 5th World Conference on Women & Sport 2010.

Deb Richards, Hawthorn Cycling Club - Secretary

Deb has been an important part in the Club's success in developing a strong Women's Program which has seen their rates of female participation dramatically increase, including an increase in gender diversity on the Committee.  The Club continues to investigate and invest in programs that increase women's participation in cycling.

Di Day, Cricket Victoria - Female Cricket Coordinator

Among the core components of Di's role as Female Cricket Coordinator at Cricket Victoria is to ensure that cricket is an inclusive sport for all, as well as increasing the number of female participation opportunities and developing recognition for women in cricket in all aspects of the game.

Monica Tonner, Sandringham Yacht Club - Sailing Operations and Racing Event Coordinator

Some of Monica's key responsibilities as Sailing Events Coordinator at Sandringham Yacht Club are to lead and manage all aspects of the clubs keelboat program for the 2500 club members and visitors.  In her (former) role as Chairperson of Yachting Victoria "Women and Girls in Sailing Committee" was to raise awareness and influence behaviours to help clubs understand what grassroots sports products and services appeal to women and girls.

Background: Lacrosse Victoria, Baseball Victoria and Softball Victoria have partnered with Vicsport to develop a Women in Sport Network providing professional development and networking opportunities for women within our sports.  An initial session was held in early March, with this session being the 2nd of four planned forums for 2015.

The discussion will be focused on hearing from successful women from other sports on what they have done to increase participation of women in their sport, and how you can do the same at your club.  Please see more details about the forum below and attached:
