Day 1:

Good start to the National Tournament for Southern Crosse with a win over Northern Warriors 14 to 4. MVP for Southern went to Lincoln Krieger and the goal scorers were Liam Fothergill with 5 goals, Lincoln Krieger with 3, Harrison Ross 2, Aaron Currie also 2 and lastly  Louis Osborne and Thomas Bown scored 1 each.  One of our younger players, Harrison Ross had a good game and ran through the defence to score his first 2 goals. Looking forward to tomorrow with two big games coming up, hoping for two wins.

Day 2:

Today was a big day for Southern, playing two games. Our first game of the day was against Western Metro and the finals score was 7 to 6 their way. It was a tough game with even scores for most of the game, southern had a good come back from being down 5 to 1 in the first half. Goal scorers were Liam Fothergill – 3 goals, Lincoln Krieger – 2 and Finton Redmond 1. MVP for the game was our Goalie Nicholas Hulley who ate up shots all day.

Our second game was against the Southern Braves with another unfortunate one goal loss, scores were 10 – 9. Goals scored by Aaron Currie with 5, Ben Chapman 3 and Liam Fothergill 1. MVP went to a well-deserved Aaron Currie for working hard all day, putting his body on the line and for only missing one of his shots.

Day 5:

Today against Western Reds, Southern had a great win 11 to 5. We had a slow start but we started to listen to the advice of our coaches and came back and played an ‘annoying style of lacrosse’, according to the SA coaches to win the game quite convincingly. The following people found the back of the net, Ben Chapman 4 times, Liam Fothergill 2 times and Finton Redmond,Lincoln Krieger, Daniel Taylor, Louis Osborne and Thomas Bown 1 time each. MVP went to Ben Broeks for his lock off role and his persistence in harassing the other team’s offence.

Day 6:

Today on our rest day we drove for a while to the city in Adelaide and we had a look around the shops. After that we went to the pub and had a delicious lunch. Lastly we went to the Adelaide Sailing Club and learnt how to sail in the ocean. It was a fun experience and funny to watch people fall out and get drenched.
