ALA National Conference for Coaches & Officials

ALA is proud to announce the Inaugural National Lacrosse Conference for Coaches, Officials & Players on April 6-7, 2013 in Melbourne.

The conference has been developed to further enhance the skills and knowledge of all our Coaches & Officials. Even if you are still  playing and haven't stepped into the coaches box or picked up a whistle yet - this is a great opportunity to learn more about the game as a player.

ALA is delighted to confirm former AFL Coach of the Year and current AFL Coaching Ambassador Stan Alves as one of the keynote presenters at this year's National Conference. Stan will discuss the importance of club culture and how you can develop a culture to drive individual and team performance. Other presenters will include our National Men's & Women's team Coaches, Max Madonia (Women) and Glenn Meredith (Men) as well as former AFL Umpire Gavin Deller to present on High Performance Umpiring and Mentoring programs. 

These keynote speakers will be complemented by a host of the very best coaches, officials and positional experts from Australian Lacrosse:

  • Official Stream - Jason Lawrence, Alan Frost, Jan Jackson, Don Lovett, Anne Kingston, Alan Chiron, Kris Palmer & Kelvin Minerds
  • Women's Coaching Stream - Stacey Morlang, Sue Sofarnos, Jason Simpson & Sarah Mollison
  • Men's Coaching Stream - Rod Ansell, Chris Baker, Darren Nicholas, John Tokarua & Darren Gibson
  • Combined Streams - Murray Keen, Glenn Morley, Stuart Cormack & Chris Brown

The National Conference will feature three education streams Men's, Women's and Officials' - this will ensure we are delivering the information that you want.

Registration Fee of $80 includes:

  • 2 days of expert presentations
  • Conference Manual
  • Morning tea, lunch & afternoon tea each day
  • Other giveaways

Coaches will also receive:

  • Conference Manual
  • Lacrosse Coaches Diary

Officials will also receive:

  • Conference Manual
  • ALA Officiationg Equipment

ALA would like to request that each Victorian Club:

  • Sends at least 2 attendees (clubs to possibly consider club sponsorship/ subsidy of their entry fee)
  • Actively promots the National Conference to all of their members as this is a major and exciting event for all interested Coaches and Officials
